Issued at 5:00 AM, 26 April 2026 by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the latest regional forecast warns of generally unstable weather conditions across large parts of Mindanao due to the influence of Easterlies.

The forecast period is valid from 5:00 AM today until 5:00 AM tomorrow, with meteorologists cautioning residents to remain alert for possible flooding and landslides, especially in areas experiencing prolonged or heavy rainfall.
Caraga and Davao Regions under cloudy skies with scattered rains
Residents in the Caraga Region as well as parts of the Davao Region—particularly Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental—are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
These weather disturbances are being driven by the Easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, which continue to affect the eastern sections of Mindanao.
PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas already saturated by previous rainfall.
Rest of Mindanao sees isolated thunderstorms
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Although generally less intense, PAGASA emphasized that severe thunderstorms could still result in flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
Authorities are advising the public to remain vigilant, especially during late afternoon and evening thunderstorms, which are typically more intense.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Intermittent rain and thunderstorms
In the Zamboanga Peninsula, including:
- Zamboanga City
- Zamboanga del Norte
- Zamboanga del Sur
- Zamboanga Sibugay
- Isabela City
skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms transitioning into more frequent cloudy conditions with scattered rains later in the day.
Temperatures across the peninsula are expected to range from 24°C to 33°C. Winds will remain light to moderate coming from the east to northeast, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
Northern Mindanao: Persistent rain showers expected
In Northern Mindanao, similar weather conditions will prevail:
- Bukidnon may experience cooler temperatures ranging from 18°C to 33°C with scattered thunderstorms
- Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental are expected to have cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms
Coastal areas will experience slight to moderate sea conditions, while winds remain light to moderate from the east to northeast.
Davao Region: Thunderstorms likely throughout the day
Across the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, weather conditions will remain generally cloudy with rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period.
Temperatures will range from 24°C to 34°C, with humid conditions expected to persist. PAGASA cautioned that localized thunderstorms may become severe, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.
Public advised to stay alert
PAGASA urged the public, especially those in flood-prone and landslide-prone communities, to take precautionary measures and monitor updates from local disaster risk reduction offices.
Fisherfolk and those with small sea vessels are also advised to exercise caution due to moderate sea conditions across coastal waters in Mindanao.
The agency continues to monitor the situation closely as Easterlies remain dominant over the region.
