CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Authorities arrested a High Value Individual (HVI) and an alleged accomplice in a buy-bust operation that yielded an estimated ₱850,000 worth of suspected shabu in Zone 8, Barangay Bulua on the morning of April 10, 2026.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Marc,” 35, and “Haizel,” 27, are both residents of Misamis Oriental.

According to police reports, the operation was carried out at around 8:42 a.m. by a joint team from the City Drug Enforcement Unit, the City Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10. The coordinated effort resulted in the successful apprehension of the two individuals during the transaction.

Seized from their possession were nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 125 grams, with a total estimated street value of ₱850,000. Authorities also recovered buy-bust money, a mobile phone, a digital weighing scale, an electric sealer, and other drug paraphernalia believed to be used in the illegal drug trade.

The arrested suspects are currently under police custody as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges against them for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations as part of ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensure public safety in the city.
