DAVAO CITY — A high-value drug suspect was arrested in the early hours of April 7, 2026, following a successful buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in Barangay 7-A.
The operation, carried out at approximately 1:18 a.m. along Torres Street, was led by Special Operation Unit 11 under the command of Police Brigadier General Elmer E. Ragay, Director of the PNP-DEG. The team coordinated closely with Police Station 2 in San Pedro, Davao City to ensure the smooth execution of the anti-drug operation.
Authorities identified the suspect only by his alias “Winwin,” a 43-year-old male listed as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign. His arrest marks another significant development in the intensified crackdown against illegal drug activities in the region.
Seized during the operation were approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PhP408,000.00. Operatives also recovered several non-drug items believed to be connected to the illegal transaction.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and brought to Police Station 2 for proper documentation and processing. Meanwhile, the confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the City Forensic Unit 11 in Davao City for laboratory examination to confirm its composition and evidentiary value.
