The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has forecast generally fair but unstable weather conditions across Mindanao, with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms expected from Saturday morning, March 28, until early Sunday, March 29.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional weather bulletin, PAGASA-Mindanao (MINPRSD) said the prevailing easterlies—warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—will influence the region’s weather, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night.
While most areas will experience intervals of sunshine, the state weather bureau warned that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao
Across the Zamboanga Peninsula—including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City—temperatures are expected to range between 23°C and 35°C. Similar weather conditions will persist through the night, with slightly cooler temperatures.
In Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, temperatures may dip as low as 18°C in upland areas like Bukidnon, while coastal areas may see highs of up to 33°C. Occasional thunderstorms are expected, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN
The Davao Region, covering Metro Davao and surrounding provinces, will continue to experience warm and humid conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C. Rainshowers and thunderstorms may develop later in the day.
In SOCCSKSARGEN, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, similar weather patterns will prevail, with daytime temperatures ranging from 22°C to 35°C.
Caraga and BARMM
In the Caraga Region, including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with intermittent rains and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 23°C and 33°C.
The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), covering Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and the Maguindanao provinces, will also experience similar conditions. Temperatures may reach up to 34°C during the day.
Winds and Coastal Conditions
Winds across Mindanao will remain light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to east. Coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters, making it generally safe for small seacraft, although caution is still advised during thunderstorms.
Public Advisory
PAGASA urged residents to remain vigilant, particularly during thunderstorms that may develop rapidly and bring intense rainfall. Communities in flood-prone and landslide-susceptible areas are advised to monitor local weather updates and coordinate with disaster risk reduction offices.
The agency continues to monitor weather conditions and encourages the public to stay informed through official advisories.
