ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — A female drug suspect from Marawi City was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of illegal drugs worth ₱340,000, police authorities confirmed.


The suspect, identified by her alias “Saripia,” a resident of Poblacion, Marawi City, was caught by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) inside a bakeshop along Roxas Avenue, Poblacion, Iligan City, on the evening of January 25, 2026.
Police said operatives successfully purchased one large packet of suspected shabu valued at ₱300,000, which led to her immediate arrest. A subsequent search recovered two additional packets of suspected shabu, with a combined estimated value of ₱40,000, bringing the total estimated street value to ₱340,000.
Authorities noted that the operation was the result of intelligence gathering and surveillance indicating that the suspect was allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in Iligan City.
The confiscated drugs were properly inventoried in the presence of witnesses and are set for forensic laboratory examination.
The female suspect is currently detained at Police Station 5 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and warned that anyone involved in illegal drugs—regardless of gender or origin—will face the full force of the law.
