ILIGAN CITY – Authorities arrested an alleged High-Value Individual (HVI) and seized approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱748,000 during a coordinated anti-drug operation in Barangay Saray, Iligan City on the evening of July 11, 2026.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Lando,” 46, unemployed, and a resident of Barangay Saray, was apprehended after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover operative during a buy-bust operation led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) Team 3.
The operation was conducted in close coordination with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Iligan City, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) Iligan, 1005th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB-10), City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10, and Iligan City Police Station 5.
During the operation, authorities confiscated multiple sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of 110 grams, along with the buy-bust money, a wallet, and a coin pouch believed to have been used in the illegal drug transaction.
Police said the recovered illegal drugs will undergo qualitative and quantitative examinations at the Iligan City Forensic Unit to determine their composition and exact weight for evidentiary purposes.
The suspect is currently under the custody of Iligan City Police Station 5, where investigators are preparing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest forms part of the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) targeting high-value drug personalities believed to be involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics across Northern Mindanao.
Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of PRO-10, reaffirmed the regional police force’s commitment to sustaining aggressive law enforcement operations against the illegal drug trade.
“We will continue to intensify our campaign against illegal drugs, particularly against High-Value Individuals who continue to endanger our communities by distributing prohibited substances,” Abrahano said.
The regional police chief also called on the public to remain vigilant and actively support anti-drug efforts by immediately reporting suspicious activities to authorities.
PRO-10 emphasized that community cooperation remains a vital component in dismantling drug networks and ensuring safer and more peaceful communities throughout Northern Mindanao.
The latest operation underscores the continuing collaboration between the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in pursuing major drug personalities and disrupting the supply of illegal drugs in the region. While authorities consider the seizure a significant blow to local drug operations, investigations are ongoing to determine whether the arrested suspect has links to a wider drug distribution network operating in Iligan City and neighboring areas.
