Bukidnon, Philippines
A manhunt operation led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bukidnon Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with local police, has resulted in the arrest of a father accused of raping his own five-year-old daughter in Quezon, Bukidnon.

Authorities identified the suspect as “Edu”, 39, a widower and resident of Purok 4, Barangay Paitan, Quezon. He was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Malaybalay City court on January 16, 2026, for Qualified Rape of a Minor and Sexual Assault under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code.
CIDG Director PMGEN Robert AA Morico II confirmed that the suspect is listed as the Number 9 Provincial Most Wanted Person in Bukidnon.
Background of the Case
Investigations revealed that in April 2025, Edu allegedly raped and sexually assaulted his biological daughter inside their home in Barangay Paitan. The crime was reported months later, on October 17, 2025, by the victim’s aunt to the Quezon Municipal Police Station. The case was subsequently elevated to the National Prosecution Service, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant earlier this month.
CIDG Commendation
CIDG leadership commended PCOL Jonathan B. Papay, Regional Chief of CIDG Regional Field Unit 10, and PLTCOL Ian N. Datiles, Chief of CIDG Bukidnon Provincial Field Unit, for their swift action in apprehending the suspect.
“The arrest underscores CIDG’s unwavering commitment to protect women and children from abuse and violence, particularly in cases of incest and rape of minors,” the CIDG said in a statement.
Justice for the Victim
Authorities stressed that the capture of the accused marks the beginning of the pursuit of justice for the young victim. CIDG vowed to remain relentless in tracking down fugitives and most wanted persons across the country, especially those accused of sexual crimes against minors.
“The CIDG means business,” the agency emphasized, assuring the public of its resolve to hold perpetrators accountable and safeguard vulnerable communities.
