ALABEL, SARANGANI – A 35-year-old resident of Sarangani Province was slapped with fresh estafa charges after numerous investors filed complaints dating back to 2022.
On December 30, 2025, authorities from the Alabel Police Station served a new warrant of arrest against the suspect, who was previously detained in connection with similar fraud cases. The accused, known only by the alias “Bert,” is currently in the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had previously warned the public about the recurring investment scheme, which appears to have resurfaced online. According to reliable sources, the scam is now being operated through digital platforms, raising concerns over potential new victims.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious investment activities to prevent further financial losses.
