CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Authorities from Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) arrested two drug suspects and seized suspected shabu valued at approximately P2,040,000 during a buy-bust operation in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on May 26, 2025.
The operation, led by personnel of Tagoloan Municipal Police Station and the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, took place at Zone 6, Sugbongcogon. The suspects were identified only by their aliases: “Bam-bam,” 43, tagged as a high-value individual on the drug watchlist, and his alleged live-in partner, “Rose,” 27. Both are residents of the said area.
Authorities said “Bam-bam” has a history of drug-related offenses. He was convicted in 2015 for violating Republic Act No. 9165, served a six-year sentence, and was again arrested in 2020 for a similar offense. This latest apprehension marks his third.
Seized during the operation were 10 rectangular heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing an estimated 300 grams, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag, a coin purse, and a marked P500 bill used in the buy-bust.
The suspects are currently detained at the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
PRO10 Regional Director PBGen Jaysen C. De Guzman lauded the operating units for the successful anti-drug operation, reiterating the police force’s commitment to curbing illegal drug activities in Northern Mindanao.
