Malaybalay City, Bukidnon – April 23, 2025 — In a show of renewed commitment to peace, six former rebels surrendered a total of six assorted firearms to government authorities in a formal turnover ceremony held at Camp Captain Ramon M. Ohahon, Malaybalay City.
The activity was led by PMAJ Romar Jones Cahucom, Chief of the Provincial Logistics Unit, under the supervision of PCOL Jovit Lontac Culaway, Provincial Director of the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office (PPO). The surrender was made possible through the government’s Task Force Balik-Loob Program, under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which supports former rebels (FRs) in reintegrating into mainstream society.
The six individuals voluntarily abandoned the armed struggle and chose to return to the fold of the law, symbolically ending their involvement with insurgent groups by turning over their firearms to authorities.
Also present during the ceremony were Ms. Alicia Claire C. Popera, Local Government Operations Officer V of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bukidnon, and 1st Lt. Kyra Joice B. Masibay, representative of the 26th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
The turnover ceremony marked another step toward sustained peace and reconciliation efforts in Bukidnon, reinforcing the government’s commitment to helping former combatants rebuild their lives in a peaceful and lawful manner.
