VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon – Authorities at the Valencia City Jail – Male Dormitory (VCJ-MD) successfully intercepted prohibited contraband during a routine food inspection, underscoring the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) continuing efforts to strengthen jail security and prevent illegal items from entering the facility.

The interception was made by the jail’s designated searcher during the inspection of food brought into the facility, preventing the prohibited item from reaching the jail population. Jail officials did not disclose the specific type of contraband recovered, but emphasized that the incident highlights the importance of strict screening procedures in maintaining the safety and integrity of the institution.
Under the leadership of JSUPT Shodji R. Labis, City Jail Warden, the Valencia City Jail – Male Dormitory continues to enforce comprehensive inspection protocols and security measures aimed at ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly environment for all Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), jail personnel, and visitors.
According to jail authorities, routine inspections of food, personal belongings, and other items entering the facility remain among the most effective measures in preventing the smuggling of prohibited materials that could compromise jail operations or endanger lives.
