DAVAO CITY — A couple tagged as a Top 5 City Level High Value Target (HVT) was arrested in a pre-dawn anti-drug operation that led to the seizure of illegal drugs worth ₱183,600, police confirmed.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Kol,” 29, and “Shy,” both residents of Barangay Wilfredo Aquino, were apprehended during a buy-bust operation at around 3:00 a.m. on December 22, 2025, along Monteverde Extension, Barangay 27-C, Davao City.

According to the police report, operatives successfully conducted a test-buy that resulted in the recovery of several sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects, prompting their immediate arrest. Authorities said the operation was the result of sustained intelligence monitoring, with “Kol” listed among the city’s priority drug personalities.

The seized illegal drugs were estimated to have a total street value of ₱183,600, underscoring what police described as the couple’s active involvement in illegal drug distribution.

Both suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Further investigation is ongoing to determine possible links to a wider drug network operating in the city.

Police reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations, particularly against high-value targets, to curb the proliferation of narcotics and protect communities from drug-related crimes.
