DAVAO CITY — A 35-year-old man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on Sunday noon, December 21, 2025, in Barangay Maa, authorities confirmed.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Doy-Doy,” a resident of Deca Homes, Mintal, was apprehended by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the DCPO’s Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit–XI (RPDEU-XI), in coordination with Maa Police Station 16 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Region XI (PDEA-XI). The operation was carried out along Jade Street, Escoda, Purok 18, Gem Village, Barangay Maa.
According to police reports, undercover operatives successfully purchased one sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect, prompting his immediate arrest. A follow-up search yielded two additional sachets of suspected shabu recovered from his possession.
Authorities said the total value of the seized illegal drugs, including the buy-bust item and confiscated sachets, was estimated at ₱102,000.
The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The seized items were turned over for proper documentation and laboratory examination, while further investigation is ongoing to determine the suspect’s possible links to a wider drug network.
Police reiterated their commitment to sustained anti-illegal drug operations and urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.
