CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Three men were arrested in two separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) on October 30 and November 1, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth a combined ₱115,600 and a 9mm pistol.

The operations, carried out in Barangay Nazareth and Upper Carmen, targeted suspected drug activities and resulted in the arrest of three men aged 26 to 40, according to police reports.
The first operation took place at around 7:55 p.m. on October 30 along 15th Street Extension in Barangay Nazareth. Personnel from the COCPO City Intelligence Unit (CIU) arrested a 38-year-old suspect identified only by the alias “Nonoy,” a resident of Barangay Patag.
During the operation, a police poseur-buyer purchased a Shooters 1911 caliber 9mm pistol from the suspect. The firearm reportedly had no magazine and serial number.
A subsequent body search led to the recovery of two sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 12 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱81,600. Police also seized a sling bag and the buy-bust money used in the operation.
The suspect is facing possible charges for violations of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a separate operation on November 1, police arrested two more men during a buy-bust operation in Zone 10, Upper Carmen, at approximately 11:35 p.m.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Junjun,” 40, and “Jorge,” 26, both residents of the area.
The operation was conducted by the COCPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), under the leadership of PMAJ Aldren Estrada Baculio, with assistance from the City Mobile Force Company and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA-10).
Authorities recovered three sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately five grams, with an estimated street value of ₱34,000. Other confiscated items included ₱500 in buy-bust money, two Android mobile phones, a cigarette pack, and other personal belongings.
The two suspects were brought under the custody of the CDEU-COCPO for documentation and appropriate disposition.
Combined, the two operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱115,600, along with a 9mm pistol and other pieces of evidence.
The arrested individuals remain subject to the appropriate legal proceedings. The suspected illegal drugs and firearm from the first operation are to undergo laboratory examination and verification as part of the investigation.
