Mindanao — December 30, 2025. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a regional weather forecast warning Mindanao residents of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, brought about by the prevailing easterlies affecting the island.
In its 5:00 AM advisory, PAGASA said most parts of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening. While no storm signal is raised, the state weather bureau cautioned the public against possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Wind conditions across Mindanao are expected to be light to moderate from the east to northeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters, making coastal waters generally safe for small sea vessels but still requiring vigilance during sudden weather changes.

Residents and local disaster officials are advised to:
✔ Monitor official weather updates
✔ Avoid outdoor activities during thunderstorms
✔ Secure boats and fishing gear when seas become rough
✔ Take caution while traveling, especially during sudden downpours causing slippery roads
PAGASA continues to track weather developments from its Mindanao office in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental. For further information and emergency weather updates, the public may contact the agency via telephone or visit its official website.
As the holiday season continues, authorities remind the public to remain prepared for any abrupt weather changes and to prioritize safety during travels and outdoor celebrations.
