EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental — Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) continues to influence weather conditions across Mindanao as its trough brings cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms over large portions of the island, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported early Thursday morning.

As of 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, the center of Typhoon Tino was estimated at 315 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan or 350 kilometers east-northeast of Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan. The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kilometers per hour, moving west-northwestward at 30 kilometers per hour.

Zamboanga Peninsula: Cloudy and Rainy Conditions

The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the typhoon’s trough. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides brought by moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City are all expected to have light to moderate south to southwest winds and slight to moderate coastal waters with wave heights ranging from 1.0 to 2.1 meters.
  • Daytime temperatures across the region will range between 22°C to 33°C.

Northern Mindanao: Localized Thunderstorms Likely

In Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, residents may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized convection.

  • Winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate seas.
  • Temperatures are forecast to hover between 21°C and 32°C.

Davao Region: Warm but with Scattered Thunderstorms

The Davao Region, including Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, will see partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms.

  • Winds will remain light to moderate from the south to southwest, and coastal conditions will be slight to moderate.
  • Temperatures will reach highs of 32°C to 35°C, particularly in Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental.

SOCCSKSARGEN: Warm Days with Afternoon Rains

In North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected with localized afternoon or evening thunderstorms.

  • Winds will be light to moderate, with seas slight to moderate.
  • Temperatures will range from 20°C to 33°C.

Caraga Region: Fair Weather with Local Thunderstorms

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will generally experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

  • Coastal waters will be slight to moderate, and winds will blow from the south to southwest.
  • Maximum temperatures may reach 35°C, particularly in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur.

BARMM: Mixed Weather Across Provinces

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will have varied weather conditions, with Basilan expecting cloudy skies and rainshowers, while other areas like Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Lanao del Sur will have partly cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

  • Winds will remain light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
  • Temperatures across the region will vary between 21°C and 32°C.

PAGASA warned residents, especially those in low-lying and mountainous areas, to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas with heavy or prolonged rainfall.
