Maitum, Sarangani Province — Hope and compassion reached 165 families in Maitum on Friday, September 12, 2025, as the UAE Red Crescent, in partnership with KCC Foundation Inc., spearheaded a relief operation at the Municipal Hall.

The distribution, organized with the assistance of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), showcased the collaborative power of global generosity and local governance. The Sarangani Ronda Probinsya program of the Provincial Government under Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao, together with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of aid.
Municipal Administrator Ruben Balanag and Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chair on Social Services Hon. Zusima Del Rosario conveyed Maitum’s gratitude to the benefactors, emphasizing that such initiatives uplift communities and give struggling families renewed strength.
“This relief drive proves that when international partners, private foundations, and local governments work together, meaningful change happens in the lives of ordinary people,” Balanag said during the event.
The relief packs, which contained essential food and household items, were warmly welcomed by recipients—many of whom continue to recover from economic challenges.
For the UAE Red Crescent, the activity reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to stand in solidarity with vulnerable communities across the globe, while for KCC Foundation, it was another step in deepening its role as a corporate partner in humanitarian and development work.
The event served as a reminder that beyond borders and institutions, compassion remains a universal language. With every relief pack handed out, the families of Maitum saw more than just aid—they saw a promise of care, solidarity, and hope for a stronger tomorrow.
