CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – May 16, 2025 — The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) has intensified its anti-drug campaign through a string of successful buy-bust operations in Iligan City, Bukidnon, and Misamis Oriental on May 14 and 15, resulting in the arrest of four suspected street-level drug personalities and the confiscation of over PHP2 million worth of suspected shabu.

In a report released by PRO10, the coordinated operations led to the seizure of approximately 302.8 grams of shabu, with a total estimated street value of PHP2,059,840.00.

On May 14, operatives from Iligan City Police Station 4 apprehended a 25-year-old suspect, identified only by the alias “Joe,” during an operation in Barangay Tambacan. Confiscated from him were around 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP170,000, an improvised paper pouch, and two PHP100 bills used as marked money.

The following day, a major operation in Bukidnon led to the arrest of alias “Ido,” 31, a farmer from Barangay Capinunan, Cabanglasan. The operation, carried out by Kalilangan Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit and the 1004th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, resulted in the recovery of approximately 167.8 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP1,141,040, along with PHP1,500 in marked money and several personal items.

Meanwhile, on the same day in Misamis Oriental, personnel from Tagoloan Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Zone 6A, Baluarte, Tagoloan, leading to the arrest of two individuals identified as alias “Mario,” 49, and alias “Brando,” 38, a truck driver. Authorities recovered nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects—five large and four small from “Mario,” and one large and two small from “Brando.” The confiscated drugs, weighing around 110 grams, had an estimated value of PHP748,800.

All four suspects are currently in police custody and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the efforts of the police units involved.

“We salute the dedication and courage of our personnel. These operations reflect our unwavering commitment to rid our communities of illegal drugs and ensure a safer, drug-free Northern Mindanao,” he said in a statement.

The successful operations form part of PRO10’s continued crackdown on illegal drug activities, particularly targeting street-level individuals who are considered high-risk in local drug trade networks.
