Cagayan de Oro City – In a continued crackdown against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) reported the arrest of five individuals and the confiscation of over ₱617,000 worth of suspected shabu during two separate buy-bust operations in Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon on May 22, 2025.
In a major operation conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10), authorities arrested three suspects in Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. The individuals were identified by their aliases: “Jimwel,” 31, a construction worker; “Rap,” 44, a vegetable vendor; and “Sweet,” 21, a mall cashier — all residents of the city.
Seized during the operation were approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱510,000. Authorities also recovered ₱1,000 in buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and various personal items.
Meanwhile, in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, a separate operation was carried out by the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit and the 1004th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10.
This resulted in the arrest of two suspects, identified as “Amay,” 24, and “Van,” 18, both construction workers from Don Carlos, Bukidnon. Authorities confiscated around 15.8 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱107,440, a caliber .45 pistol with magazine and six loaded cartridges, a Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle, ₱500 buy-bust money, and other personal items.
The total amount of drugs seized in both operations reached approximately 90.8 grams, valued at ₱617,440.
All arrested individuals are now under police custody and are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additionally, “Amay” will face further charges for illegal possession of firearms under Republic Act No. 10591 and violation of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 11067, which prohibits the unauthorized carrying of firearms during the election period.
PRO-10 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman lauded the operating units for their coordinated efforts and successful operations, reaffirming the police force’s commitment to eradicating the illegal drug trade in Northern Mindanao.
