SIBAGAT, AGUSAN DEL SUR — A high-value drug personality was apprehended in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XIII (PDEA RO XIII) Agusan del Sur Provincial Office, in coordination with the Sibagat Municipal Police Station, on April 2, 2025.
The operation, which took place around 5:50 p.m. in Purok 1, Barangay Tabon-tabon, resulted in the seizure of approximately five grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱42,500.
Authorities also recovered non-drug evidence from the suspect, including the marked buy-bust money and a mobile phone believed to have been used in illegal drug transactions.
The suspect is set to face charges for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The said provision penalizes the sale, trading, and distribution of dangerous drugs.
PDEA RO XIII credited the success of the operation to its strong partnership with the Sibagat Municipal Police. Joint intelligence gathering and coordinated execution were key to disrupting the illegal drug activities in the area, according to authorities.
Law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and well-being of communities in Agusan del Sur.
