April 5, 2025 — Tandag City, Surigao del Sur — Authorities dismantled a suspected drug den in Brgy. Telaje, Tandag City on April 4, 2025, following a successful anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Surigao del Sur Provincial Office in coordination with the Tandag City Police Station (CPS) and the Surigao del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (SDS PIU).
The operation, conducted in the afternoon at Purok Galaxy, led to the confiscation of nearly Php75,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu. The joint forces also apprehended three individuals suspected of operating the illegal drug den.
Aside from the illegal drugs, authorities also seized several drug paraphernalia, a mobile phone allegedly used in drug transactions, and the marked buy-bust money used during the sting.
The three suspects are now under police custody and are facing multiple charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They remain detained pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
The successful operation marks another step in the intensified anti-drug campaign in the province.
