The provincial government of Davao Oriental continues its efforts to improve the lives of its residents through various programs aimed at development and progress. One of the most impactful initiatives under the leadership of Governor Niño Uy is Oplan Pailaw, a project designed to address the long-standing issue of inadequate street lighting in many communities.

Through Oplan Pailaw, solar-powered streetlights have been installed in remote sitios and barangays across the province, bringing much-needed illumination to previously dark and unsafe roads. The project aims to enhance safety, reduce accidents and crime, and promote economic activity in local communities.

To date, the program has achieved significant milestones:

  • 2,500 solar-powered streetlights installed
  • 55 barangays benefitting from improved lighting
  • ₱149.9 million allocated for the project

Beyond providing brighter streets, Oplan Pailaw symbolizes the provincial government’s commitment to progress, security, and a better future for the people of Davao Oriental. Governor Uy continues to implement initiatives that uplift communities and create lasting positive change.
