Davao City’s initiative to modernize public services has gained significant traction, with the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) Online Cedula Application Platform catering to 70,555 applicants since its launch in mid-2023.
The system, introduced in May 2023, initially processed 402 applications from May to December of that year. However, its usage surged in 2024, with 20,106 applications recorded. As of March 2025, an impressive 50,047 applications have already been filed through the platform.
According to the CTO, this remarkable growth is attributed to the effective information dissemination efforts of the City Government of Davao. Through social media campaigns and informational materials, more residents have become aware of the convenience offered by the online system.
To ensure accessibility for individuals without internet access, the CTO has also established two kiosks at the lobby of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Building. These kiosks provide an alternative means for Dabawenyos to apply for their cedula online.
The Online Cedula Application System was developed in collaboration with the City Information Technology Center. This initiative aligns with Davao City’s broader commitment to enhancing digital services and making government transactions more efficient and accessible to its residents.
