CAMP GALLEGO, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – In a decisive effort to curb illegal drug activities, law enforcement personnel from the Sultan Naga Dimaporo Municipal Police Station (SND MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) under Pre-Operations No. 30002-032025-0352, successfully executed an anti-illegal drug operation on March 17, 2025, at around 1:40 PM in Sitio Laik, Barangay Bauyan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo (SND), Lanao del Norte.
The operation was conducted through the implementation of Search Warrant No. 21-895 for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The warrant was signed and issued by Hon. Jihan Gift Gonzaga-Morong, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 21, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, on March 7, 2025.
Authorities apprehended the suspect, identified as alias “Mahid,” a 36-year-old married resident of the area. A thorough search of his residence led to the confiscation of various illegal substances and paraphernalia, including:
- One medium-sized sachet and one small-sized sachet of suspected shabu, with a total weight of approximately 2.1 grams, valued at PhP14,280.00.
- Two pieces of folded aluminum foil.
- Two improvised plastic panels used for drug repacking.
- One coin pouch.
- One empty magazine for a caliber .45 firearm.
- Several rounds of live ammunition: four for a caliber 5.56mm firearm, six for a caliber 9mm, one for a caliber .45, one for a caliber .380, and one for a caliber .38.
- One empty shell of caliber .38 ammunition.
Cases for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 are currently being prepared for filing against the suspect. The arrested individual and the confiscated evidence remain in the custody of SND MPS for further investigation and legal proceedings.
PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), praised the successful operation, reaffirming the authorities’ unwavering stance against illegal drugs.
“This operation underscores the relentless commitment of LDN PPO in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice,” Magsalay stated.
Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in reporting any suspicious drug-related activities to ensure a safer community.
