Davao City’s online platform for the Lingap para sa Mahirap program remains steadfast in delivering financial aid to underprivileged Dabawenyos, assisting 2,840 clients in 2024. From January to February alone, the platform has served 366 individuals, enabling them to request assistance without needing to visit government offices physically.
Joan Paralisan, Team Leader of the Online Lingap, emphasized that the platform caters to residents requiring financial support for hospital and funeral bills, dialysis treatment, as well as medical and laboratory procedures. She noted that the online services are identical to those provided to walk-in clients at Lingap’s private desk, with the only difference being that applicants submit their requirements digitally.
Dabawenyos seeking assistance can send their necessary documents to the Lingap para sa Mahirap official Facebook Page, allowing the office to process their applications in advance.
“For instance, if a hospital bill has yet to be issued, applicants may first submit other necessary documents and follow up with the remaining requirements later, ensuring faster processing of their financial aid,” Paralisan explained.
She encouraged applicants to use scanned copies of their documents instead of photos taken via mobile phones, as some images may be unclear and difficult to read.
“Using scanned copies ensures that the documents are legible and can be processed without delays,” she added.
Online transactions through the platform are completed within five to ten minutes, providing a more efficient system for both applicants and administrators. Paralisan also urged Dabawenyos to utilize the online service to help decongest Lingap offices. The online platform operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Apart from the online platform, the Lingap program also maintains satellite offices in Calinan, Marilog, Toril, Bunawan, Paquibato, and the Almendras Gymnasium compound.
