CARMEN, DAVAO DEL NORTE – Law enforcement operatives dismantled a drug den and arrested eight suspected drug personalities in a buy-bust operation conducted in Purok 9, Barangay Alejal, Carmen, on March 6, 2025, at around 2:20 AM.
The operation was carried out by the Davao del Norte Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 11, in coordination with the Coast Guard Intelligence Group South Eastern Mindanao, Carmen Municipal Police Station, and the 2nd Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Company.
Authorities apprehended the alleged drug den maintainer, identified as @ Tata, after he sold suspected shabu worth Php 9,000 to an undercover operative. Also arrested were his employee, @ Jhon Lloyd, along with six drug den visitors identified as @ Cecilio, @ James, @ Jharred, @ Joseph, @ Joshua, and @ Ruel.
During the operation, authorities seized eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 180,000. Assorted drug paraphernalia and marked buy-bust money were also confiscated at the scene.
The arrested individuals will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities emphasized their continued efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the region and urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to illegal drugs.
Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the drug network’s operations and possible connections to larger drug syndicates in the area.
