Tandag City, Surigao del Sur – The Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) continues its relentless efforts to apprehend high-profile fugitives, resulting in the recent capture of several most wanted individuals across different levels.
Under the leadership of Provincial Director PCOL Harry B. Domingo, multiple operations have been successfully conducted, leading to the arrest of notorious criminals in the province.
On February 13, 2025, police operatives arrested “Glory,” the Top 5 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level under EMPO. The 21-year-old female from Barangay Gamut, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, was taken into custody by Barobo MPS personnel led by PMAJ Nurlsan T. Muhadalam. She was apprehended based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 33 in Butuan City for Qualified Theft, with a recommended bail of Php 24,000.
In a separate operation on the same day, “Erson,” the Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the regional level, was captured in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur. The 33-year-old welder from Villaba, Leyte, was wanted for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act). The arrest was made by a joint operation involving Tagbina MPS, Villaba MPS, and multiple regional intelligence units.
On February 17, 2025, a 16-year-old male, listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level under EMPO, was arrested in Sta. Maria, Trento, Agusan del Sur. The minor was wanted for Carnapping (RA 10883) under an arrest warrant issued by the RTC in Bislig City, with a bail set at Php 300,000. The operation was executed by Bislig CPS under PLTCOL Randy Rajah V. Ramos.
The following day, February 18, 2025, authorities arrested “Bert,” the Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level under Manhunt Charlie. The 63-year-old from Barobo, Surigao del Sur, was wanted for violations of RA 9287 (illegal gambling law) as per a warrant issued by RTC Branch 28 in Lianga. He was apprehended by a joint police operation led by PMAJ Muhadalam.
Later that evening, at 11:00 PM, another high-value target, “Nathan,” was captured. The 44-year-old Militia ng Bayan member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was the Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the regional level. He was arrested in Barangay Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur, for Rebellion, with no bail recommended. The operation was spearheaded by Lianga MPS, Regional Intelligence Unit 13, and personnel from the Special Action Battalion of the PNP-SAF.
All arrested individuals were informed of their rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law before being taken to their respective police stations for proper legal processing.
PCOL Harry B. Domingo commended his team for their dedication, stating, “These arrests send a strong message that there is no safe haven for criminals in Surigao del Sur. We will continue our intensified operations to ensure the safety and security of our communities.”
