PDEA urges public cooperation against illegal drugs

PDEA reiterated its call for the public to cooperate with law enforcement authorities by reporting suspicious activities and voluntarily turning over suspected illegal drugs through appropriate official channels.

The agency emphasized that information from concerned citizens and private individuals can help strengthen interdiction efforts and support measures aimed at protecting communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.

PDEA also said the identities of individuals who may have assisted in the turnover are being withheld to protect their privacy and security and to encourage more members of the public to cooperate with authorities.

Coordinated enforcement and community participation

The recovery highlights the role of coordination among PDEA’s provincial office and specialized interdiction units in efforts to address the movement of suspected illegal drugs.

However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and the recovery alone does not establish who owned or intended to distribute the substances.

The agency’s appeal for public cooperation underscores the importance of reporting credible information through proper channels while allowing authorities to verify reports and conduct investigations in accordance with established procedures.

The substances recovered have been described as suspected marijuana and kush. Their identification and the circumstances surrounding the recovery remain subject to appropriate verification and investigation.
