In a move to bolster energy infrastructure in Tawi-Tawi, the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and Indonesia’s Pertamina Gas Negara conducted a workshop on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) following their courtesy visit to Barangay Pababag, Bongao. The initiative aims to explore LNG’s role in powering the upcoming Pababag Industrial Project and fostering economic growth in the region.
The session commenced with Pertamina presenting its extensive background in LNG production, pipeline infrastructure, and distribution. The company shared insights into its operations and underscored how its expertise could contribute to the success of the industrial project in Pababag.
Following the presentation, PNOC’s CEO spearheaded an interactive workshop, engaging key stakeholders by organizing attendees into four groups:
- Investors
- Suppliers
- Consumers
- Local Government
Each group was tasked with identifying three critical challenges in LNG utilization specific to the Pababag Industrial Project and proposing viable solutions. The discussions facilitated knowledge-sharing, addressed potential roadblocks, and helped align strategies among stakeholders.
The workshop marked a crucial step in integrating LNG into the province’s industrial framework, reinforcing Tawi-Tawi’s potential as a hub for sustainable energy and economic advancement. With PNOC and Pertamina at the helm, the initiative is expected to lay the groundwork for efficient energy utilization and regional development.
