TUBOD, Lanao del Norte—The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense-Region 10 (OCD-10), successfully conducted a three-day workshop aimed at enhancing the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRM) Plan for CY 2026-2028. The event, held from February 5-7, 2025, took place at Riana’s Catering Function Hall, MCC Complex, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from various government agencies, national line agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), people’s organizations (POs), and the private sector. Also in attendance were Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) focal personnel from different provincial government offices, particularly the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), led by Abeliza Manzano.
Facilitated by Mr. Dale Jordan Gumahad and Ms. Eileen Bautista from OCD-10’s Policy Planning and Development Section, the workshop covered three in-depth modules focused on enhancing knowledge, skills, and attitudes in developing Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plans (LDRRMPs). The training aligned with the standards and methodologies set by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), ensuring a systematic and effective approach to disaster risk reduction.
The sessions emphasized disaster preparedness, response strategies, and resilience-building initiatives to mitigate the impact of natural calamities in Lanao del Norte. Experts led interactive discussions, encouraging participants to analyze local disaster risks and formulate proactive measures tailored to their respective communities.
As a key outcome of the workshop, participants are expected to refine and finalize their respective disaster management plans, strengthening the province’s overall disaster resilience. This initiative marks another milestone in Lanao del Norte’s commitment to safeguarding its residents and enhancing disaster preparedness across the province.
