Valencia City, Philippines – The local government of Valencia City marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Emergency Operations Center Building. The event took place on February 17, 2025, at Purok 17-C, Barangay Poblacion.
The facility, with a budget allocation of PHP 18,571,323.99 under the Local Risk Reduction and Management Fund, aims to serve as the central hub for emergency response operations. The center is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of disaster response measures, ensuring swift action during calamities and emergencies.
The ceremony was graced by key city officials, including Mayor Azucena “Sunny” Huervas, City DRRM Officer June Ray Valero, RN, City Budget Officer Jinny Q. Tiu, CPA, RN, City Engineer Engr. Rodina Onting, Assistant City Administrator Rembert Bautista, and Engr. Allen Bula, owner of Arbul Builders & Construction Supply.
The establishment of this new facility is seen as a significant step forward in strengthening the city’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities. It also reflects Valencia City’s commitment to enhancing public safety and resilience against natural and man-made disasters.
