KITAOTAO, Bukidnon — A 49-year-old woman lost approximately ₱200,000 in cash and several ATM cards after two unidentified suspects allegedly forcibly took her sling bag outside her sari-sari store and residence in Purok 3, Barangay Bolocaon, Kitaotao, Bukidnon, on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, 2026.
The incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m., shortly after the victim had closed her store and was preparing to leave the area.
According to the initial investigation of the Kitaotao Municipal Police Station (MPS), the suspects arrived aboard a red Honda CRF motorcycle without a license plate. The motorcycle reportedly stopped near the victim, after which the back rider immediately got off and approached her.
Police said the back rider was wearing a white helmet and black jacket when he allegedly confronted the victim and forcibly grabbed her sling bag.
The suspects then immediately fled aboard the motorcycle, heading toward the direction of Barangay San Isidro in Kitaotao.
The sling bag reportedly contained around ₱200,000 in cash and ATM cards, resulting in a substantial financial loss for the victim.
The victim subsequently contacted the police, prompting personnel of the Kitaotao MPS to respond to the incident.
At approximately 2:10 p.m., police personnel under the leadership of Chief of Police PMAJ Jose Regner M. Sevilleno launched a hot pursuit operation and activated Oplan Shield in an effort to locate and intercept the fleeing suspects.
As of the latest police report, however, the identities and whereabouts of the two suspects remained unknown.
Authorities are continuing their manhunt and investigation, including efforts to establish the identities of the suspects and determine their movements following the robbery.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and appropriate charges will be filed against those responsible once identified and apprehended.
Authorities are also expected to examine available information and possible leads that could help establish the identities of the suspects and support their eventual prosecution.
The incident serves as another reminder for residents and business owners to exercise caution when handling or transporting large amounts of cash, particularly when leaving their homes or business establishments.
The police have not disclosed additional details that could compromise the ongoing investigation.
