General Santos City – In a continued effort to eradicate the harmful effects of illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) successfully arrested a drug suspect and confiscated Php 65,000 worth of suspected shabu in a targeted operation on February 4, 2025.
Under the leadership of PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, personnel from Police Station 6, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and the City Intelligence Unit, all operating under the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), conducted the operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The team implemented a search warrant at Purok Pearly Shell, Barangay Bula, leading to the arrest of the suspect identified as alias “Andrie,” a jobless resident of the area.
During the operation, authorities recovered 17 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 10 grams, along with drug paraphernalia. The seized illegal substances were estimated to have a street value of Php 65,000.
The arrested individual was taken to Police Station 6, GSCPO for documentation and proper disposition. Meanwhile, the confiscated evidence was submitted to the PNP Regional Forensic Unit 12 for thorough examination.
A criminal case for violation of Article II, Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared for filing against the suspect.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and encouraged the public to remain vigilant in reporting illegal activities to help maintain peace and order in the region.
