Factory Worker Arrested for Shabu Peddling in Tacurong City

Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat — A factory worker accused of peddling illegal drugs was apprehended in a buy-bust operation on November 8, 2024, in Tacurong City. The operation, led by joint forces from the Tacurong City Police Station, Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, targeted 22-year-old Andrew Lanes Lee, also known as “Bentong,” a resident of Purok Rose, Barangay Griño.

The arrest took place at approximately 5:01 p.m., resulting in the seizure of two sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as “shabu,” weighing around 0.6 grams with an estimated street value of Php 4,080.00. Authorities also confiscated various drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money used in the operation.

According to Director Benjamin C. Recites III, Acting Regional Director of PDEA ROXII, Lee faces charges for violating Section 5, Section 11, and Section 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Lee is currently detained at the PDEA ROXII Custodial Facility, pending further legal proceedings.

This latest arrest underscores the ongoing anti-drug efforts in Sultan Kudarat, where law enforcement agencies continue to collaborate in targeting drug trafficking within the region.
