Tacurong City, March 3, 2025 – A coordinated buy-bust operation conducted by the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler and the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at Php187,068.00 in Tacurong City.
The operation, carried out by the Tacurong City Police Station (CPS) in collaboration with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), 1st Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st SKPMFC), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, took place at Lapu-lapu Street, Barangay Poblacion.
Authorities arrested the suspect, identified as alias “Rasty,” a 39-year-old resident of Purok Lover, Barangay Ambalgan, Sto. Niño, South Cotabato. Confiscated from his possession were three sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 27.51 grams, with an estimated street value of Php187,068.00.
The suspect and the seized illegal substances were brought to the Tacurong CPS for proper documentation and processing. Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the arrested individual.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the region. “This arrest sends a strong message that PRO 12 remains steadfast in its campaign against illegal drugs. We will continue to strengthen our intelligence operations and law enforcement efforts to dismantle drug networks that threaten the safety of our communities,” he said.
