General Santos City & Tacurong City — Anti-drug operatives in Region 12 scored major gains this week after dismantling a suspected drug den in General Santos City and arresting a marijuana peddler in Tacurong City in two separate operations that netted four suspects and a combined haul of illegal drugs.

On November 19, 2025, at around 3:05 PM, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 12—through its Sarangani–General Santos Provincial Office and backed by the Regional Special Enforcement Team and the General Santos City Police Office–Police Station 6—raided a suspected drug den in Purok Tinago, 9B, Barangay Dadiangas South, General Santos City.

Three high-value targets were arrested:

  • Dexter, 49, businessman
  • Lloyd, 39, carpenter
  • Orlan, 40, tricycle driver

Agents confiscated around 7 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱47,600, along with marked buy-bust money, an Android phone, and assorted drug paraphernalia. The suspects are now facing charges under Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of Article II of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Just a day later, on November 20, 2025, PDEA Regional Office XII – Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, in coordination with Tacurong City Police Station, carried out a buy-bust operation in Purok Daisy, Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City at around 11:55 AM.

Authorities arrested Jan Chris, 19, a laborer and resident of the area, after he sold marijuana to an undercover agent. Confiscated from him were 500 grams of dried marijuana fruiting tops, leaves, seeds, and stalks, with a standard street value of ₱60,000, along with marked money, drug paraphernalia, and an Android cellphone. He is currently detained at the PDEA RO 12 facility and faces charges for violating Section 5 of RA 9165.

PDEA Regional Director III Charlene R. Magdurulang lauded the coordinated efforts, saying the operations “reinforce our commitment to fight illegal drugs in Region 12 and ensure safer, drug-free communities.”

PDEA Region 12 emphasized that these successive operations demonstrate its continued drive to disrupt illegal drug networks by targeting both high-value individuals and local distributors operating within communities.
