Surallah, South Cotabato, November 8, 2024 – The Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12), through the collaborative efforts of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and the Surallah Municipal Police Station, launched an anti-illegal drugs operation that led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the confiscation of a substantial amount of suspected shabu. This operation, part of a broader regional campaign against illegal drugs, emphasizes PRO-12’s commitment to dismantling drug networks in South Cotabato.
The buy-bust operation took place in Sitio Silangan, Barangay Centrala, Surallah, resulting in the arrest of a suspect identified by the alias “Renheart,” a 26-year-old mechanic from Barangay Lower Makulan, Lake Sebu. Law enforcement officials seized 15 plastic sachets containing 13 grams of suspected shabu, valued at approximately Php88,400. Additionally, a marked one-thousand-peso bill used as buy-bust money was recovered from the suspect.
Following the arrest, “Renheart” and the confiscated drug items were taken to Surallah Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper handling, pending further legal action. The police noted that the apprehension was a key step in their ongoing efforts to disrupt local drug trafficking activities.
The South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO) reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safer, drug-free community through persistent action against those involved in the illegal drug trade. “United as one, we will strengthen our commitment to building a drug-free region by dismantling the illicit supply and demand of dangerous drugs and holding accountable those responsible for their spread,” a spokesperson for the operation stated.
