Buenavista, Agusan del Norte — Authorities arrested two men during a drug operation in Purok 2, Barangay Alubihid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, on October 24, 2024, confiscating illegal drugs locally known as “Shabu” from the suspects. The operation, conducted by the Buenavista Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 13, was carried out through a search warrant.
Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO) Acting Provincial Director, Police Colonel April Mark C. Young, identified the suspects as alias “Mak-mak,” 27, and alias “Jun,” 25. “Mak-mak” was classified as a Street Level Individual, while “Jun” is considered a High-Value Individual due to his involvement in drug activities. Both are unemployed residents of Barangay Alubihid.
The suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights in their native language and are now in custody at the Buenavista Municipal Police Station. They will face charges for violations under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
Representatives from the Department of Justice, media, and local barangay officials were present during the operation to ensure transparency. Police Colonel Young lauded the police’s efforts, stating, “This accomplishment is a solid testament of our resolve to rid illegal drugs in our community.”
This latest operation underscores the ADNPPO’s commitment to combating illegal drug activity and promoting safer communities across Agusan del Norte.
