Two alleged street-level drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Agusan del Norte, resulting in the confiscation of a combined 25.28 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of ₱171,904, police authorities reported.
The operations were conducted by units of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 13) on September 23 and 24.
PRO 13 Director PBGen Rolindo M. Suguilon said the first operation was carried out on September 23 in Purok 3, Barangay Matabao, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, where personnel of the Buenavista Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with PDEA 13, arrested a 38-year-old suspect identified by the alias “Prin.”
Authorities said the operation led to the seizure of approximately 15.1 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated SDP value of ₱102,680.
Also confiscated during the operation were marked money allegedly used in the transaction, cash, a cellular phone, and a coin purse.
A second operation was conducted on September 24 in District 4, Barangay Camagong, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.
Personnel of the Nasipit MPS and the Agusan del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit, also in coordination with PDEA 13, arrested another suspect identified as alias “Quian,” 20.
Police said the operation resulted in the confiscation of several sachets containing approximately 10.18 grams of suspected shabu, valued at around ₱69,224 based on the SDP.
Authorities also recovered two cellular phones, marked money, lighters, and a glass tube believed to be associated with drug use.
Combined, the two operations resulted in the seizure of 25.28 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱171,904, according to PRO 13.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated evidence were placed under the custody of the respective operating units for documentation, proper disposition, and the filing of appropriate charges.
PBGen Suguilon said the operations demonstrate the police force’s continuing campaign against illegal drugs and other threats to public safety.
“These successful operations demonstrate our continued commitment to addressing illegal drug activities and other threats to public safety,” Suguilon said, adding that PRO 13 will continue working with its law enforcement partners to strengthen efforts against illegal drugs and maintain peace, order, and security in the region.
The latest arrests underscore the continuing anti-drug operations being carried out by police and PDEA units across Agusan del Norte, particularly against street-level drug distribution.
