AGUSAN DEL NORTE – Police authorities arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and a street-level individual (SLI) in separate buy-bust operations in the towns of Buenavista and Santiago, Agusan del Norte, resulting in the confiscation of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

According to Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Director PCOL April Mark C. Young, personnel from Buenavista Municipal Police Station collared alias “Ryan,” 31, an on-call masseur and resident of Barangay Matabao, Buenavista, during a buy-bust in Purok 4, Barangay 9, on August 22, 2025. The suspect, identified as a high-value individual, yielded suspected shabu.

Meanwhile, Santiago Municipal Police Station apprehended alias “Jimboy,” 19, a laborer and resident of Barangay 3, Cabadbaran City. He was arrested in Purok 1, Barangay Curva, Santiago, around 3:23 a.m. on the same day. The suspect, categorized as a street-level individual, was also found in possession of suspected shabu.

Both suspects were informed of their constitutional rights in a language they understood and are now detained at their respective municipal police stations, facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operations were conducted in the presence of representatives from the Department of Justice, media, and barangay officials, ensuring transparency in the anti-drug campaign.

“This accomplishment reflects ADNPPO’s proactive law enforcement approach aligned with the Chief PNP’s directives to neutralize crime syndicates, curb illegal activities, and bring justice to the communities we serve. This sends a strong message that Agusan del Norte Police remains steadfast in the fight against illegal drugs. To those who are still involved in the illegal trade, your time is up,” said PCOL Young.
