Tubod, Lanao del Norte, October 14, 2024 — A suspect was apprehended during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Dove Village, Barangay Dalama, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. The joint operation, initiated at approximately 5:00 AM, involved personnel from the Tubod Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), and the Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA)-Lanao del Norte.
The arrest was made following the execution of Search Warrant No. 143-3024, issued by Judge Alberto P. Quinto of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 1, Iligan City. The search of the suspect’s residence led to the discovery and seizure of illegal drug paraphernalia, including three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance, suspected to be shabu. The drugs, weighing approximately 0.8 grams and valued at Php 5,440.00, were confiscated alongside five empty plastic sachets, four aluminum foil strips, and a small plastic container marked “bamboo toothpick.”
The physical inventory and marking of the seized items were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect, a barangay official, and a media representative to ensure transparency.
The suspect is facing charges under Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs). The confiscated substances have been sent to the Provincial Forensic Unit for further examination. Meanwhile, the suspect remains in the custody of the Tubod Municipal Police Station as authorities prepare the case for inquest filing.
PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of the LDN PPO, praised the operatives for their effective operation. “This successful arrest highlights our ongoing commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Lanao del Norte and ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” he stated.
