TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Authorities successfully arrested a high-value drug suspect following a coordinated anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Caniogan, Tubod, Lanao del Norte, on March 14, 2025.
A composite team from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Tubod Municipal Police Station (MPS), and Regional Intelligence Division-10 (RID-10) executed Search Warrant No. 143-07-2025 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The warrant was issued by Judge Richie Gay T. Mendoza of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 07, Tubod, LDN, dated March 6, 2025.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male suspect, classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI), residing at the targeted address.
During the search, authorities recovered multiple items suspected to be illegal drugs and related paraphernalia. Confiscated items included:
- 25.6 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php 174,080.00 (two big-size sachets)
- 5 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php 34,000.00 (three square-size sachets)
- 0.6 gram of suspected shabu valued at Php 4,080.00 (three elongated-size sachets)
- Various drug paraphernalia such as aluminum foils, lighters, and improvised tooters
- Firearms and accessories including a .45 caliber pistol (Colt) without a serial number, three steel magazines, a black leather holster, and four live ammunition rounds
The confiscated drugs had a total estimated weight of 31.2 grams with a total estimated street value of Php 212,160.00.
A thorough inventory and marking of seized items were conducted on-site, witnessed by barangay officials and a media representative. Charges for Violation of Section 11, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are being prepared against the suspect. He is currently detained at Tubod MPS for further investigation and legal proceedings.
PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDN PPO, praised the swift and coordinated efforts of the operating team. “This operation underscores the relentless commitment of LDN PPO in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice,” he said.
Authorities encourage the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.
