TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Authorities successfully conducted a joint buy-bust operation late on the night of February 25, 2025, leading to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler in Barangay Tangueguiron, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Personnel from the Tubod Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 1005th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB-10), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), carried out the operation under PDEA Pre-Operations No. 30002-022025-0638. The suspect, identified only as alias “Edgar,” a 33-year-old unemployed resident of Purok 2, was apprehended during the sting.
An intelligence operative, acting as a poseur buyer, purchased a sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.2 grams with a street value of Php 1,360.00. Following the transaction, a body search yielded additional evidence, including four more sachets of suspected shabu with a total weight of one gram and an estimated value of Php 6,800.00.
Authorities also confiscated a Php 500.00 bill used as marked money, two disposable lighters, and a black coin purse. The total weight of the seized illegal drugs amounted to 1.2 grams, with a total estimated street value of Php 8,160.00.
A physical inventory and marking of the confiscated evidence were conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect, a Barangay Councilor from Brgy. Tangueguiron, and a media representative. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been prepared for inquest proceedings against the suspect.
Lanao del Norte Provincial Director PCOL Roy A. Magsalay lauded the operatives for their dedication and commitment to the province’s intensified anti-drug campaign. “This operation underscores the relentless commitment of LDN PPO in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice,” he stated.
