TUBOD, Lanao del Norte — The intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) scored another breakthrough after a successful buy-bust operation led to the arrest of a drug suspect in the early hours of Tuesday, September 24, 2025.

At around 2:40 a.m., joint elements of the Tubod Municipal Police Station (TMPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), carried out the operation in Purok 7, RCIS, Poblacion, Tubod. The operation was launched under Pre-Operations No. 11-00-09242025-002.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Rodel,” 31, single, jobless, and a resident of Purok 4, RCIS, Poblacion, was caught after selling a heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu worth Php 500 to a police poseur-buyer.

Authorities recovered a total of 19 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a white plastic container, the Php 500 marked money, and two rolled aluminum foil strips during the body search. The seized drugs weighed approximately three grams with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 20,400.

Police said the operation was conducted in an orderly manner, with the presence of a barangay official and a media representative serving as witnesses.

The suspect is now in the custody of Tubod MPS for documentation and further disposition. The confiscated drugs have been submitted to the LDN Provincial Forensic Unit for examination, while charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being readied against him.

PCOL Leo De Leon Sua, Acting Provincial Director of LDN PPO, lauded the operating units for their teamwork and persistence in the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.

“This successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of LDN PPO in the fight against illegal drugs. The arrest of the suspect and the seizure of suspected shabu underscore our determination to safeguard our communities. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our anti-drug operations to bring those involved in this illicit trade to justice. We urge our citizens to remain vigilant and to continue supporting the campaign against illegal drugs,” Sua said.
