Digos City – A joint anti-illegal drugs operation in Purok Bayanihan, Barangay San Miguel, Digos City, led to the arrest of two individuals, including a high-value target, and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at PhP 35,496.00.
The operation, conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit, Digos City Police Station’s Intel Unit, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RDEU), 1st Davao Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company (DSPMFC), and 1104th Maneuver Company (MC) of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 (RMFB 11), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in the capture of alias “Armand,” categorized as Regional Target No. 5 and a High-Value Individual (HVI), and alias “Inday,” classified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI).
Recovered during the operation were several pieces of evidence, including sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a street value of PhP 35,496.00. Additional items seized were a Springfield .45 caliber pistol with serial number 514972, a magazine loaded with four live rounds of ammunition, a genuine one thousand peso bill, two black coin purses, a dark blue VIVO android cellphone, and a black sling bag.
Both suspects are now in the custody of the Digos City Police Station for appropriate legal actions, while the confiscated drugs have been forwarded to the Regional Forensic Unit 11 (RFU 11) for further testing and examination.
The arrest of alias “Armand,” a notable high-value target, underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in the Davao Region to curb illegal drug activities. These actions highlight the commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to their intensified anti-drug campaign aimed at reducing the proliferation of illegal substances and holding drug personalities accountable.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Acting Regional Director of PRO 11, praised the successful operation and commended the collaborative efforts of the involved units. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination between local police and national agencies, such as the PDEA, in achieving the goal of a drug-free community.
