Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) successfully apprehended 218 individuals during a series of law enforcement operations conducted from September 19 to 25, 2024, across Northern Mindanao. The intensified operations targeted illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms, resulting in significant accomplishments.
In the region’s anti-illegal drug campaign, PRO10 conducted 83 operations, leading to the arrest of 98 individuals. Law enforcers confiscated a total of 390.469 grams of shabu and 81.50 grams of marijuana, with an estimated street value of Php2,664,969.20. The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal drug networks and reduce drug-related crime in the region.
The police also ramped up their efforts against illegal gambling, conducting three separate operations. Twelve individuals were apprehended, and authorities seized Php3,260.00 worth of illegal gambling paraphernalia.
In addition to the drug and gambling operations, PRO10 successfully apprehended 98 individuals wanted for various crimes. This included 18 individuals listed as “Most Wanted” and 80 categorized as “Other Wanted Persons,” signaling progress in addressing both minor and high-profile offenders in the region.
As part of the campaign against loose firearms, known as “Kontra Boga,” PRO10 carried out 22 operations. These resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals and the confiscation, surrender, or recovery of 58 small arms and three light weapons. The police also conducted 422 house visitations under “Oplan Katok” (Bilang Boga), encouraging citizens to surrender unlicensed firearms voluntarily. Four firearms were surrendered for safekeeping.
Acting Regional Director, PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, praised the efforts of PRO10, stating, “Under my leadership, we will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor, ensuring that justice is served across all sectors. I call on the public to stand with us in this fight. Let us work together to create a safer place to live, work, and do business.”
The week-long operations demonstrate PRO10’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in Northern Mindanao. Through coordinated efforts and community involvement, the region is seeing a significant reduction in illegal activities and enhanced public safety.
