Maguindanao Del Norte Governor Abdulraof Macacua has announced that he will not seek re-election in the upcoming 2025 elections. This decision was confirmed during a recent meeting with the nomination committee of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), led by UBJP President Ahod Alhaj Murad Ebrahim.
When asked about his plans for the 2025 elections, Governor Macacua stated, “Option to run as Governor is no longer considered.” He emphasized that his decision is final and that he will not be running for the gubernatorial position in Maguindanao Del Norte.
Governor Macacua mentioned that his political path might lead him to run as a District Representative or become one of the party nominees endorsed by the UBJP. He reassured that his relationship with UBJP officials remains strong, highlighting their over 40 years of camaraderie through both hardships and triumphs.
