CAMP SIONGCO, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte — The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division of the Philippine Army received reinforcements on Thursday, May 9, 2025, as part of intensified security preparations for the upcoming national and local elections.
A unit from the 53rd Division Reconnaissance Company (53rd DRC) arrived in the afternoon aboard a Philippine Air Force C-130 aircraft at Tactical Operations Group 12. These elite forces will augment the 90th Infantry (Bigkis-Lahi) Battalion, which is tasked with safeguarding key areas within the division’s area of responsibility.

“The arrival of additional troops is part of our intensified security measures. Our goal is to ensure a safe, peaceful, orderly, clean, and credible election,” Maj. Gen. Gumiran said. “We are committed to supporting the Commission on Elections and other government agencies in upholding the integrity of the democratic process.”
Thousands of soldiers are now strategically stationed across the division’s wide coverage area, working in coordination with the Philippine National Police and other force multipliers to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines continues to assure the public of its readiness to respond to any security concerns that may arise before, during, and after election day.
