Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay — April 5, 2025 — In preparation for the upcoming 2025 elections, the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office (ZSBPPO), in coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Zamboanga Sibugay and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), conducted a comprehensive two-day training for Electoral Boards (EBs) on April 3–4 at the Sibugay Grand Plaza Hotel in Sanito, Ipil.
The training aimed to equip police personnel from various municipal stations and the provincial headquarters with the essential knowledge and technical skills to effectively carry out their responsibilities during election day.
Primary lectures were delivered by Election Officer III Maria Lorena M. Guevarra and Jesus Alvin B. Lim, along with COMELEC CMT-1 Engineer Al Lander A. Dangpalan. Topics included the roles and responsibilities of the Electoral Board, updated election guidelines, and procedures, as well as the proper use and handling of the Automated Counting Machine (ACM).
The training concluded with a hands-on demonstration of the ACM, facilitated by COMELEC Zamboanga Sibugay staff and DOST EB Certifier Mr. John Kenneth Cabral. Participants were given the opportunity to operate the machines, reinforcing their familiarity and confidence in the electoral process.
The initiative reflects the joint commitment of ZSBPPO, COMELEC, and DOST to ensure orderly, transparent, and efficient elections in the province.
