Valencia City, Bukidnon – A 35-year-old male suspect, identified as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Valencia City Police Station (CPS) in collaboration with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 10.
The operation, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Bryan M. Panganiban, took place at Purok 1, Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City. Authorities seized approximately 120.4 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of Php 818,720.00.
The suspect is facing charges for violating Article II, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination.
Police officials emphasized that the successful operation reinforces efforts to combat illegal drug activities in the region. The arrest also serves as a warning to those involved in the drug trade, highlighting the continued vigilance of law enforcement agencies in addressing the illegal drug problem.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine possible connections to larger drug networks operating in Bukidnon and nearby areas.
